Senior Program Officer – Resource Acquisition

About the role

World Vision Mali is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead resource acquisition and grant development across the country. The role reports to the Resource Development Manager and focuses on securing funding from institutional donors, developing proposals, and strengthening donor relationships to support vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Identify institutional funders and lead the development of concept notes and project proposals for major international governments, multilateral and bilateral donors, and foundations.
• Maintain and grow donor relationships, ensuring timely communication with support offices and facilitating business plan development for grant acquisition.
• Represent World Vision Mali in networking events, consortiums, and meetings with NGOs, UN agencies, and local donor delegations.
• Collaborate with internal teams—including operations, strategy, technical, and emergency relief—to align grant proposals with organizational priorities.
• Maintain grant and private fund profiles on Horizon, monitor delivery, and ensure proper recovery of funds.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, humanitarian affairs, social sciences or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in project development, budgeting, and working with international NGOs.
• Strong written and oral French; English proficiency is an asset.
• Ability to train others and demonstrate Christian maturity in line with World Vision values.
