Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in implementing its financial policies, managing grants, and preparing financial reports for projects and programmes. This role works closely with national societies and cluster programmes to ensure effective financial resource management and compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce financial and administrative policies across IFRC programmes.
• Manage grant administration, including budgeting, disbursements, and financial reporting to donors.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports for projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide financial guidance and capacity‑building training to IFRC staff and national societies.
• Collaborate with the Finance and Administration Coordinator to monitor financial risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for humanitarian programmes.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial management within an international or humanitarian organisation.
• Strong understanding of grant management and donor reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
