Deputy Director of Finance – Mali Country Program

About the role

The Deputy Director of Finance joins the Mali Country Program Senior Management Team to provide strategic financial leadership. Based in Bamako, you will ensure the program has robust financial infrastructure and systems that support IRC’s humanitarian mission and strategic vision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely financial information and analysis to support the Country Director’s decision‑making.
• Lead the development, monitoring, and execution of the country program’s financial plans and budgets.
• Oversee all finance and accounting functions, ensuring compliance with U.S., local legislation and donor requirements.
• Maintain and improve financial management practices, systems, and internal controls.
• Collaborate closely with the Country Director and other Deputy Directors (Programs, Operations, People & Culture) to resolve financial issues and drive performance.
• Prepare and present regular financial reports, forecasts, and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with extensive experience in humanitarian or non‑profit environments.
• Proven leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work in complex, resource‑constrained settings.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. and local financial regulations and donor compliance.
