People Programs Manager

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent in Africa. The People Programs Manager will own and scale the company’s rotation, internship and assignment programs, ensuring a high‑impact experience for participants and supporting the organization’s rapid growth across multiple African markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, launch and continuously improve the Cross‑Departmental Rotation Program across existing and new markets.
• Manage the full lifecycle of the Undergraduate Internship Program, from hiring liaison to onboarding, mentorship and off‑boarding.
• Oversee Short‑Term and Long‑Term Assignment deployments, handling offers, logistics, benefits and ongoing check‑ins.
• Maintain consistent scoring, fairness and data‑driven evaluation for all cohorts.
• Collaborate with People Partners to ensure policy compliance and address edge cases.
• Document program guidelines, identify expansion opportunities and lead design review sessions with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and structured approach with a focus on participant experience.
• Proven experience in managing people‑focused programs or HR initiatives at scale.
• Ability to analyze feedback and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across multiple countries.
