People Partner - Support

About the role

Wave is building Africa’s first cashless continent and needs a People Partner to support its call‑center teams in Burkina Faso and Mali. You will act as the HR liaison for the Support department, ensuring that people initiatives are aligned with business objectives and that employees feel engaged, motivated, and equipped to deliver outstanding results.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Support leads to design and execute an HR strategy that aligns with the team’s OKRs.
• Identify talent gaps, recommend reassignments, and support change‑management initiatives.
• Drive organisational effectiveness through structure redesign, employee engagement, and retention programs.
• Oversee performance‑management workflows, including regular feedback, 1:1 meetings, coaching, career‑growth conversations, OKR setting, progress tracking, evaluations, and PIP follow‑up.
• Audit employee sick‑time records for compliance and proper documentation.
• Manage employee tenure changes for Benefit and Health Review (BHR) and ensure timely updates in HR systems.
• Process work‑accommodation requests and coordinate with medical professionals for appropriate adjustments.
• Prepare and deliver explanation letters for employees as needed and monitor adherence to HR policies.
