Short‑term Audit Facilitator Consultant (Mali & Niger)

About the role

Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative (HQAI) is looking for local consultants in Mali and Niger to act as audit facilitators for upcoming Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) audits. The role involves conducting focus group discussions and interviews with community members and field staff in remote rural areas during November‑December 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group interviews with community members and field staff under remote supervision of HQAI auditors.
• Use agreed interview tools, ensure confidentiality, and manage neutral venues for discussions.
• Complete daily interview forms and debrief with auditors each day.
• Prepare a written report summarising notes, opinions, concerns and responses after each assignment.
• Participate in mandatory e‑learning and a live training session before fieldwork.

Required profile

• Experience conducting community consultations and gathering qualitative data.
• Background in the humanitarian sector with knowledge of accountability, safeguarding and the Core Humanitarian Standard.
• Fluency in French or English plus Hausa, Bambara or other local languages of Mali and Niger.
• Familiarity with local rural contexts and willingness to travel to remote project sites.
