Senior Technician

About the role

The Senior Technician will provide effective and efficient technical interventions on equipment used in public works, mining, quarrying and transport operations across Mali. Working on‑site, you will ensure equipment reliability, maximize utilization and uphold BIA’s service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Erect, configure, modify, maintain, troubleshoot and repair field equipment according to shop manuals and OEM standards.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to guarantee continuous equipment functionality and availability.
• Follow planning instructions, complete required reporting and represent BIA’s values on the field.
• Maintain safe working conditions, comply with HSE policies, report hazards and ensure proper use of PPE.

Required profile

• High School Diploma equivalent; degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or four years of apprenticeship experience.
• Minimum five years of experience as a workshop technician.
• Demonstrated competence in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and structural systems.

Required skills

• Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems knowledge.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshooting and equipment repair.
• Familiarity with Komatsu and Cummins equipment specifications and maintenance.
• Use of shop manuals and technical data resources.
• Adherence to HSE standards and proper PPE usage.
