Bambara Language Expert – Remote, $40-$95/hr

About the role

We are seeking a native or near‑native Bambara speaker to join our remote team as a language expert. You will work on translating, editing, and annotating Bambara content to improve the quality of AI language models and linguistic resources.

Key responsibilities

• Translate content into and from Bambara with high accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Edit and proofread Bambara language data to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to annotate, evaluate, and enhance language datasets.
• Develop and review glossaries, linguistic resources, and written materials.
• Provide insights on Bambara idioms, nuances, and cultural context.
• Contribute expertise to improve AI language models.
• Deliver tasks on time while meeting established quality standards.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Bambara, both written and verbal.
• Strong experience in translation, editing, or related linguistic work.
• Ability to translate complex concepts accurately and fluently.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to linguistic accuracy.
• Familiarity with language data or AI‑related tools and platforms.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
