Education Officer (P-2) – Temporary Appointment

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Education Officer (P-2) for a 364‑day temporary appointment in Bamako, Mali. Reporting to the Education Specialist (ECW programme, P‑3), you will support the design, implementation and monitoring of education programmes that aim to improve learning outcomes for children in fragile and humanitarian contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning, including needs assessments and logical framework design.
• Manage programme implementation, monitor progress, and ensure delivery of results against targets.
• Provide technical and operational assistance for ECW projects, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities within the education sector.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, sociology or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in programme planning, management or research in education.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of another UN language or a local language is an asset.
• Experience in fragile or humanitarian settings is desirable.
