Offshore HSE Officer – North Sea

About the role

Join a leading international power cable contractor as the primary Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) authority on a specialised cable‑laying vessel operating in the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea. You will ensure full compliance with client HSE standards, flag‑state and port‑state regulations, and international maritime conventions throughout the campaign.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee that all on‑board activities meet client HSE standards, local legislation (Germany/Netherlands) and project requirements.
• Provide expert HSE guidance to the Vessel Master, Chief Mate and crew on ISM, ISPS, MLC 2006, MARPOL, STCW and SOLAS implementation.
• Lead risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and the rollout of risk control measures across all departments.
• Conduct regular vessel inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Manage safety training, inductions and familiarisation programmes for all personnel.
• Investigate incidents, produce reports and track HSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Required profile

• Valid STCW ’95 Basic Safety Training certificate.
• BOSIET with CA‑EBS certification.
• Current GWO certificates.
• Proven experience in HSE roles on offshore vessels or similar maritime environments.
• Strong knowledge of international maritime safety and environmental regulations.
