Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Software Engineer to join DERT’s Bamako office. You will design, develop, test and maintain robust, scalable software applications that address real business challenges for our diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Write clean, well‑documented code in Java, C#, Python or JavaScript.
• Develop and integrate back‑end APIs, work with databases and optimise server‑side performance.
• Review peer code, participate in design sessions and technical discussions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to refine requirements, plan sprints and deliver features on schedule.
• Troubleshoot issues, improve system performance and contribute to continuous improvement of development tools and processes.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer‑science concepts such as data structures, algorithms and software design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience in software development with at least one modern programming language.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows.
• Ability to work effectively in an on‑site team, communicate clearly and manage priorities.
