Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior AI & Digital Transformation Expert to lead the digital transformation of transport governance across the ECOWAS region. The role will support the EU‑funded Technical Assistance project by integrating AI, digital platforms and data‑driven tools into transport, logistics and infrastructure systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital transformation strategies and smart transport governance solutions.
• Provide technical assistance for AI integration, predictive analytics, and digital decision‑support platforms.
• Advise on automation, digital interoperability, data governance and innovation frameworks.
• Support digitalisation of corridor monitoring, customs, road safety, transport observatories and infrastructure management.
• Prepare technical specifications, innovation roadmaps and operational guidelines.
• Coordinate with ECOWAS institutions, ICT providers, transport agencies and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities on AI applications in the transport sector.
• Contribute to monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs related to digital innovation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Digital Innovation, Data Science or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in digital transformation, AI or smart infrastructure systems.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in AI systems, smart governance platforms or related digital projects.
• Proven experience in development cooperation or donor‑funded programmes, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
