Programme Support and Liaison Officer (P)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mali Country Office is seeking a Programme Support and Liaison Officer to strengthen its engagement with the United Nations system in Mali. The officer will support the implementation of inter‑governmental migration agreements, contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, and act as a key liaison within the UN Network on Migration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation, follow‑up and review of migration‑related agreements and programmes.
• Coordinate activities of the UN Network on Migration in Mali, ensuring alignment with government priorities.
• Prepare and manage reports, briefing notes, and documentation for programme monitoring and evaluation.
• Facilitate communication and cooperation between IOM, UN agencies, and national authorities.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for programme events, meetings and field missions.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in programme support, coordination or liaison within an international or UN context.
• Good understanding of migration issues and UN frameworks such as the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063.
• Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; French language skills are an asset.
