PBF Secretariat Coordinator

About the role

The Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) Secretariat Coordinator will lead the PBF Secretariat team in Mali, ensuring effective governance, accountability and impact of the PBF portfolio. The role supports the Joint Steering Committee, provides technical assistance to partners, and oversees monitoring, evaluation and communication of results.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the PBF Secretariat team, strengthening capacities in peacebuilding, gender‑mainstreaming, M&E and conflict‑sensitivity.
• Coordinate overall portfolio management with recipient organisations, UN system actors, national stakeholders and civil society.
• Facilitate quality‑assurance processes for resource allocation and ensure compliance with PBF guidelines.
• Support the Joint Steering Committee with secretarial tasks, including meeting organisation, preparation of working papers and dissemination of decisions.
• Monitor and report on risks, delays and recommendations, providing early warning to the Resident Coordinator and implementing partners.
• Promote visibility of PBF results, mobilise resources and document lessons learned for knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a multi‑disciplinary team in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Strong understanding of peacebuilding, conflict‑sensitivity, gender‑mainstreaming and results‑based management.
• Ability to work closely with UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP and the Peacebuilding and Peace Support Office.
