PBF Secretariat Coordinator

About the role

The Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) Secretariat Coordinator will lead the PBF Secretariat team in Mali, ensuring effective governance, accountability and impact of the PBF portfolio. Reporting to the Resident Coordinator’s Office, the role supports strategic oversight, monitoring, and communication of peacebuilding initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the PBF Secretariat team, building capacity in peacebuilding, gender‑mainstreaming, M&E and conflict‑sensitivity.
• Coordinate the overall management of the PBF portfolio with recipient organisations, UN system partners, national stakeholders and civil society.
• Facilitate quality assurance for resource allocation and compliance with PBF guidelines, including reporting and product development.
• Support the Joint Steering Committee with secretarial tasks, meeting organisation, preparation of working papers and dissemination of decisions.
• Monitor early‑warning indicators and advise on risks, delays and solutions to ensure timely implementation.
• Document lessons learned, best practices and knowledge‑capitalisation for internal and external sharing.
• Promote visibility of portfolio results to mobilise additional resources and partnerships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating multi‑stakeholder peacebuilding or development programmes.
• Strong understanding of governance, accountability and results‑based management in UN contexts.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with UN agencies, national authorities and NGOs.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
