Senior Program Officer – Resource Acquisition

About the role

The Senior Program Officer will lead resource acquisition efforts for World Vision Mali, focusing on securing major grants and building lasting donor relationships. Reporting to the Resource Development Manager, the role supports the organization’s mission to improve the lives of vulnerable children across Mali.

Key responsibilities

• Identify institutional funders and funding opportunities, and lead the development of concept notes and full proposals for international governments, multilateral and bilateral donors, and foundations.
• Maintain and strengthen donor relationships to increase and retain financial resources.
• Coordinate with operations, strategy, technical, and emergency relief teams to develop business plans for grant acquisition.
• Represent World Vision Mali in networking events with multilateral agencies, NGOs, and local donor delegations.
• Foster collaborative partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs, and community groups.
• Participate in evaluations, working groups, and workshops, and share organizational communications across donor and public channels.
• Maintain grant and private fund records in the Horizon system and ensure proper delivery and reporting.
• Build capacity of staff under supervision and demonstrate Christian maturity in daily work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, humanitarian studies, or a related field.
• Proven experience in donor relations, grant writing, and resource mobilization.
• Strong communication and networking abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
• Commitment to World Vision’s Christian values and mission.
