Officer, Mission Medical Commodities

About the role

The Officer, Mission Medical Commodities supports the mission medical commodities manager by overseeing the distribution and tracking of pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies to health facilities. The role involves managing shipment documentation, coaching medical officers, and building capacity through on‑the‑job training.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update monthly supply distribution plans and communicate them to relevant parties.
• Generate shipment documents, obtain required signatures, and maintain accurate records.
• Compile and submit weekly and monthly distribution reports.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate documentation and timely deliveries.
• Gather feedback, requests, and delivery confirmations from field medical officers and facility directors.
• Track monthly consumption, analyze data with the manager, and adjust supplies based on actual needs.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching to medical and program officers.
• Adhere to IMC code of conduct and humanitarian principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience working with pharmaceuticals and medical commodities.
• Proven ability to analyze data and monitor performance against program indicators.
• Fluent oral and written English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multi‑tasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience guiding, supervising, coaching, and training staff.
