Country Programs Officer

About the role

The Program Officer supports the country program in developing and implementing mission activities, coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring high‑quality reporting. Reporting to the supervisor, the role requires flexibility, strong judgment and the ability to work under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Review and develop monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure quality program implementation and reporting.
• Provide guidance to program staff for successful implementation of programs, grants and contracts.
• Monitor project progress, identify issues affecting performance and recommend adjustments.
• Respond to donor inquiries and coordinate production of grant‑related documents.
• Organise weekly meetings with national staff and support development of new project proposals.
• Identify funding opportunities and arrange donor meetings for the Country Director.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, international development or a related field.
• Two to three years of experience in program design and evaluation, including at least one year in a developing‑country or resource‑deprived environment.
• Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, donor mandates and UN coordination structures.
• Strong cross‑cultural awareness and ability to motivate local staff.
