About the role

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is seeking a dedicated Information Management Specialist to support its Child Protection programme and the Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM) in Mali. The volunteer will enhance data quality, security and utilisation to inform decision‑making, coordination and advocacy for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and strengthen information management systems, including MRM IMS+, CPIMS+, GBVIMS and related databases.
• Ensure secure collection, validation, storage, analysis and use of child protection data.
• Develop and improve data collection, reporting and analysis tools in collaboration with partners.
• Produce dashboards, maps, infographics, trend analyses and other information products to support programming.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting of child protection activities.
• Build capacity of UNICEF staff, national authorities and partners on information systems and data protection.
• Provide ongoing technical support to platform users and promote knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• University degree in information management, information systems, data science, statistics, GIS or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in information management and/or child protection.
• Fluent French (mandatory); practical English knowledge is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with Primero systems (MRM IMS+, CPIMS+, GBVIMS).
• Strong data analysis, database management, statistics and data visualisation skills, especially using Power BI.
• Proficiency in GIS tools.
