About the role
DHL Express is seeking a proactive Business Development Specialist to drive growth in the heavier‑weight express segment (30‑1000 kg) across Mali. You will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and onboarding new customers who need reliable, time‑definite international transport solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Prospect and secure new business opportunities focused on heavier‑weight shipments.
- Collaborate with Core and Retail Sales teams to leverage customer insights and freight‑forwarding knowledge.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline through targeted prospecting, networking, and territory planning.
- Conduct detailed customer needs analyses and propose customized DHL Express solutions.
- Negotiate and close deals that ensure profitable, sustainable growth.
- Coordinate onboarding and handover to Core Sales for ongoing account management.
- Work with other DHL Group units to respond to cross‑business commercial opportunities.
- Research market trends, target industries and provide feedback to product, pricing and marketing teams.
Required profile

- Ability to understand complex logistics challenges and propose practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
