Financial Controller

About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and is expanding its operations in Mali. We are looking for a Financial Controller to establish and maintain an efficient financial and accounting framework that supports our rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee company accounting, ensure accurate journal entries and provide financial insights through data analysis.
• Collaborate with finance engineers to align new product designs with accounting and tax requirements.
• Identify and resolve financial discrepancies, manage month‑end closing processes and validate transactions.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies, ensure compliance with legal, tax and regulatory standards in Mali.
• Prepare and verify documentation for disbursements, safeguard confidential financial information.
• Promote Wave’s core values and embed them into the finance team’s culture.

Required profile

• Authorized to work in Mali.
• Experience in accounting, financial reporting and compliance within a fast‑growing environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Mali and travel to field locations as needed.
