Chief Supply and Logistics (P-4) – Fixed Term

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior professional to lead supply and logistics operations for its Somalia Country Office. The role is based in Mogadiscio and focuses on ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential goods and services in a complex humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full supply chain, including planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in‑country transport and distribution.
• Monitor supplies, services and construction works to ensure compliance with UNICEF standards.
• Collaborate with programme sections to define supply interventions that meet programmatic needs.
• Provide strategic technical and advisory support to government authorities, national systems and partners on resilient, risk‑informed supply chain solutions.
• Oversee the Supply Section, set annual work plans, priorities and performance targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing supply chains for medium to large country offices or emergency response operations.
• Strong knowledge of humanitarian logistics in fragile and insecure contexts.
• Leadership ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and advise senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills in high‑pressure environments.
