Regional IT Manager – Oversee IT Operations across West Africa

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent by providing simple, fee‑free financial services across Africa. As a Regional IT Manager you will lead IT Operations for multiple West African markets, ensuring that the technology backbone remains reliable, secure and scalable as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Own IT operations across Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso and other Wave locations, targeting 99.9% service uptime.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for country‑level IT incidents, coordinating with local staff and external vendors.
• Guarantee that all employees have the hardware, software and tools needed to perform their duties.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, policies and documentation to standardise IT processes across the region.
• Enforce consistent onboarding, offboarding, asset management and security procedures.
• Partner with the Information Security team to adapt and apply Wave’s security policies locally.
• Advise senior leadership on regional nuances such as purchasing constraints, network infrastructure and regulatory requirements.
• Identify resourcing gaps and drive hiring decisions for regional IT roles.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT operations across multiple countries or regions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to act as an escalation point for complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills to work with local teams, vendors and senior leadership.
• Ability to develop clear, repeatable processes and documentation.
