Powerhouse Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Powerhouse Maintenance Manager oversees mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control maintenance for the powerhouse at B2Gold’s Fekola Gold Project in Mali. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient plant operations while leading a team of maintenance personnel in a fly‑in‑fly‑out schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe and reliable powerhouse operations.
• Plan and manage preventive, predictive, corrective and major outage maintenance, keeping work on schedule and within budget.
• Improve equipment reliability and plant performance by monitoring results, reducing unplanned downtime and driving continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage spare parts, materials, tools and inventory to support maintenance needs and minimise disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, including inspections, risk controls and work permits.
• Prepare and monitor the maintenance budget, track costs and identify cost‑effective solutions.
• Lead, develop and support the maintenance team through clear assignments, performance feedback and training.
• Coordinate with operations, safety, environmental, warehouse, planning and other stakeholders to resolve maintenance priorities.
• Provide hands‑on technical support during breakdowns, emergencies and periods of high workload.

Required profile

• Recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or diploma.
• Minimum 10 years experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, with a track record of continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• At least 3 years experience in workshop/maintenance tool machining.
• Multi‑disciplinary experience in mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation fields.
• Knowledge of HFO/diesel power‑plant maintenance planning and execution.
• Ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, logic drawings and P&ID’s.
• Writing maintenance procedures, work requests and purchase requisitions.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and effective technical communication.
