National Consultant for Polio Response & Urban Vaccination Strategy, Mali (11 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National Consultant to support the response against poliomyelitis and to implement the Urban Vaccination Strategy in Bamako and other selected cities in Mali. The assignment lasts 11 months and will be based on‑site in Bamako.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, rollout and scaling of the urban vaccination strategy in Bamako and its replication in Kayes, Sikasso, Bougouni, Koutiala, Kita, Kati and Kalabancoro.
• Coordinate national Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) activities, ensuring alignment with UNICEF guidelines.
• Provide technical assistance for strategic planning, programming, monitoring and evaluation of vaccination programmes.
• Maintain and strengthen partnerships with government agencies, implementing partners and other stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, briefs and recommendations for senior management and donors.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health or related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience at national level in health programme planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
• Proven experience in coordinating national EPI activities and urban vaccination strategies.
• Fluency in French; experience working with UNICEF is an advantage.
