Head of Marketing

About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and needs a strategic, execution‑focused leader to own and grow its marketing function in Mali. As Head of Marketing you will shape the local strategy, drive brand ambition and deliver measurable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the Mali marketing strategy aligned with business growth targets and market expansion.
• Partner with the General Manager and functional leads (Operations, Sales, Support, Product) as the strategic marketing advisor.
• Plan and manage marketing budgets, allocate resources and ensure ROI accountability.
• Collaborate with the group marketing team to align local growth, product, and brand strategies with global direction.
• Lead full‑funnel campaigns across ATL, BTL and social media for the Mali market.
• Develop clear processes and documentation to guide cross‑functional teams from ideation to deployment.
• Drive market intelligence activities, including consumer insights, brand health and channel performance analysis.

Required profile

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Development, Management or a related field.
• At least 12 years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record of designing and executing large‑scale, multi‑channel marketing strategies that deliver commercial impact.
• Experience managing budgets and leading teams.
