Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist)
Odixcity Consulting
Job description
About the role
We are looking for a Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist) to join our remote team. In this role you will safeguard our platform by reviewing user‑generated content and ensuring it complies with community standards and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Review and act on reported text, image, and video content, prioritising high‑risk queues and edge cases that need human judgement.
- Monitor daily queues to detect emerging abuse patterns such as new spam techniques or coordinated hate campaigns and promptly escalate them.
- Provide feedback on moderation tool efficiency and suggest workflow improvements to increase review speed without compromising accuracy.
- Maintain a high accuracy rate (95 %+) on moderation decisions and participate in calibration sessions to ensure policy consistency.
- Collaborate with Policy teams, offering constructive feedback when guidelines are unclear or conflict with real‑world contexts.
- Investigate removal or suspension cases, making fair reinstatement determinations.
- Act as the designated responder during “red‑alert” events, such as graphic live‑streamed incidents or coordinated harassment campaigns.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety operations, or community management for a major tech/social media platform.
- Strong ability to spot subtle violations that automated systems miss, including hidden hate symbols.
- Comfortable reviewing disturbing content (violence, hate speech, adult material) and equipped with personal digital‑wellness strategies.
- Deep understanding of regional nuances, cultural sensitivities, and historical contexts.
- Proven track record of maintaining quality metrics while processing high volumes (80‑100+ items per hour).
- High emotional fortitude and the capacity to stay focused during repetitive tasks.
Required skills
- Experience with moderation platforms such as Hive, Besedo, and Salesforce.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace.
