Business Development Manager – Mali

About the role

Wave is expanding its cashless financial services across Africa and needs a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive growth in Mali. You will lead partnership creation, negotiate contracts and ensure seamless operation of Wave’s payment products in the market.

Key responsibilities

• Form, negotiate and manage strategic partnerships with banks, telcos, bill‑payment and international remittance companies.
• Build and maintain relationships to enable Wave’s payment products to operate effectively in Mali.
• Source new business partnerships and identify the right contacts within partner organisations.
• Coordinate communication between partners and internal teams such as Product, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Marketing.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in business development, partnership management or a similar role within a bank, telecom, international remittance or fintech.
• Fluent in French and English with a secondary‑degree education in Communications, Finance, International Relations or a related field.
• Strong network of contacts in Mali’s mobile‑money, banking or telecom sectors.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, present to senior stakeholders and drive projects to completion.
