Bambara Language Specialist (Remote Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a native‑level Bambara language specialist to support our AI and machine‑learning initiatives. This remote contract position offers flexible hours (10‑40 hrs/week) and focuses on high‑quality translation, editing, and linguistic data preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Translate content to and from Bambana with cultural accuracy.
• Edit and proofread Bambana language datasets to uphold quality standards.
• Collaborate with AI trainers and developers to annotate, evaluate, and improve Bambana language data.
• Create and maintain glossaries, linguistic resources, and written materials in Bambana.
• Provide linguistic insights on idioms, expressions, and cultural references to enhance AI outputs.
• Ensure all deliverables meet project deadlines and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Bambana, both spoken and written.
• Strong background in linguistics, translation, or a related field.
• Proven experience editing, reviewing, or producing Bambana language content.
• Ability to translate complex concepts accurately and fluently.
• Experience with language data and AI platforms is a plus.
