Bambara Language Expert (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a native or near‑native Bambara speaker to help train next‑generation AI systems. In this remote contract position you will provide high‑quality translation, editing and linguistic expertise that will improve how AI models understand and generate Bambara language content.

Key responsibilities

• Translate content to and from Bambara with accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Edit and proofread Bambara language data to maintain high‑quality standards.
• Collaborate with AI trainers and developers to annotate, evaluate, and improve Bambara language datasets.
• Develop and review glossaries, linguistic resources and written materials in Bambara.
• Provide insights on idioms, expressions and cultural references to optimise AI outputs.
• Participate in team discussions, offering linguistic expertise and constructive feedback.
• Ensure all deliverables meet project deadlines and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Bambara with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong background in linguistics, translation or a related field.
• Proven experience editing, reviewing or creating written content in Bambara.
• Ability to translate complex concepts accurately and fluently.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to linguistic integrity.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
