Assistant – Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

About the role

The Assistant, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) supports the M&E Officer in implementing the M&E work plan and contributes to improving programme quality. The role involves field monitoring, data collection, and analysis to assess the effectiveness of interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Apply IMC policies, guidelines and adapt global M&E tools and templates throughout the project cycle.
• Promote Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards within the organization and among beneficiaries.
• Use data collection tools to gather qualitative and quantitative data at facility and community levels.
• Support development and maintenance of programme databases using available technologies.
• Implement field‑level M&E activities such as post‑distribution monitoring, data quality audits, surveys, assessments and operational research.
• Enter data into electronic databases and ensure timely data cleaning and quality checks.
• Assist with gender analyses and assessments, including data collection, analysis and disaggregation by sex, age, disability and other criteria.
• Conduct on‑site routine data quality audits and apply appropriate sampling techniques.
• Support the design and use of mobile data collection platforms, collecting data via smartphones or tablets.

Required profile

• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Willingness to work in the field and support gender‑sensitive data collection.
• Commitment to ethical standards, including PSEA and the organization’s code of conduct.
