Regional Director

About the role

The Regional Director leads Young Life’s ministry across a defined region, overseeing staff, volunteers, and program delivery to fulfill the organization’s Christian mission of evangelism and discipleship. This senior leadership position requires strong spiritual commitment, strategic oversight, and the ability to build healthy teams and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, train, supervise, and evaluate area directors, metro staff, and office administrators.
• Oversee the Discipleship Growth Leaders (DGL) program, including candidate screening, compliance, mentoring, and training.
• Ensure leadership strategies produce healthy people, teams, and ministries.
• Develop staff and volunteers to reflect community diversity.
• Network with community, school, church leaders, parents, and donors to promote Young Life’s vision.
• Model personal spiritual growth through prayer and relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Lead and support staff in their spiritual formation and ministry effectiveness.

• Profound personal faith in Jesus Christ and adherence to Young Life’s Statement of Faith.
• Demonstrated professionalism: punctuality, positive attitude, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• Ability to listen, learn, and seek help when needed.
• Commitment to the health of staff and vibrant ministry outcomes.
