Head of Support Services Sahel

About the role

The Head of Support Services Sahel will lead the mission’s core support functions, overseeing Finance, Human Resources, Procurement and Logistics. Reporting to the Country Representative, the role ensures that all administrative and financial operations meet donor requirements and organisational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise the HR and Procurement & Logistics departments while acting as the Finance Lead for the mission.
• Ensure timely delivery of all grant‑related reports, contracts, vendor agreements and internal procedures.
• Define strategic priorities, set departmental goals and implement development plans in collaboration with the Country Representative and Regional Managers.
• Maintain proper archiving and safeguarding of all HR, Finance and Procurement documentation in line with organisational policies.
• Foster effective communication with partners, donors, authorities, vendors and community representatives.
• Develop, update and disseminate internal regulations and mission‑wide policies, ensuring staff awareness and compliance.
• Advise the Country Representative on strengthening internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Ensure that support departments are adequately staffed with the necessary competencies and address any gaps proactively.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing finance, human resources, procurement and logistics in donor‑funded projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with senior management.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, financial reporting and administrative procedures.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
