Bambara Language Translator (Remote Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a native or near‑native Bambara speaker to join our team on a contract basis. The role focuses on translating, editing, and annotating Bambara language data to support AI and machine‑learning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert‑level translation of content to and from Bambara, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Edit and proofread Bambara language datasets to maintain high‑quality standards.
• Collaborate with AI trainers and developers to annotate, evaluate, and improve Bambara language data.
• Develop and review glossaries, linguistic resources, and written materials in Bambara.
• Offer insights on idioms, expressions, and cultural references to optimize AI outputs.
• Meet project deadlines and quality requirements for all deliverables.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Bambara with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong background in linguistics, translation, or a related field.
• Proven experience editing, reviewing, or creating written content in Bambara.
• Ability to translate complex concepts accurately and fluently.
• Experience working with language data and AI platforms is highly valued.
