Deputy Representative Operations (P-5) – Fixed Term

About the role

The Deputy Representative Operations supports the Representative in leading UNICEF’s operational functions in Mali. This senior P‑5 position ensures effective administration, finance, digital impact, supply chain and risk management to enable programme delivery for children.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Officer‑in‑Charge in the Representative’s absence and provide day‑to‑day operational leadership.
• Oversee administration, budgeting, finance, digital impact, procurement and logistics to ensure efficiency, compliance and value for money.
• Promote staff development, succession planning and performance management within the operations team.
• Represent the organization in senior management meetings, providing risk‑aware advice and results‑based management inputs.
• Lead internal and external audit processes, monitor recommendations and ensure implementation.
• Drive innovation through technology adoption and digital impact management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior operational management within an international development or humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and complex budgets.
• Strong understanding of risk management, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
