Bambara Language Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a native‑level Bambara Language Specialist to support our AI and machine‑learning initiatives. This remote contract role offers flexible hours (10‑40 hrs/week) and focuses on high‑quality translation, editing, and linguistic resource development.

Key responsibilities

• Translate content to and from Bambara with cultural accuracy.
• Edit and proofread Bambara language data to maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with AI trainers and developers to annotate, evaluate, and improve Bambara datasets.
• Create and review glossaries, linguistic resources, and written materials in Bambara.
• Provide insights on idioms, expressions, and cultural references to optimize AI outputs.
• Ensure all deliverables meet project deadlines and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Bambara with excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong background in linguistics, translation, or a related field.
• Proven experience editing, reviewing, or creating Bambara content.
• Ability to translate complex concepts accurately and fluently.
• Experience with language data and AI platforms is a plus.
