Field Service Engineer – Industrial Equipment

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer you will install, commission, maintain and repair Hitachi’s advanced industrial equipment at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning and validation of manufacturing systems, power generation components and related IT infrastructure.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections and calibrations to meet reliability and performance standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical and control system failures on‑site using schematics, diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Provide technical support and training to customer personnel on operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Document all service activities, including detailed reports on installations, repairs, parts used and inventory management.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, sales and support teams to give feedback on product performance.
• Follow company safety policies, quality standards and participate in on‑call rotations for emergency service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in field service, maintenance or technical support of complex industrial machinery.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical and control systems.
• Excellent communication in English and Croatian.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and travel extensively on short notice.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
