Consultant(e) national(e) – Riposte à la poliomyélite & Stratégie urbaine de vaccination, Mali (11 mois)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National Consultant to support the polio response and lead the implementation of the Urban Vaccination Strategy in Bamako, with scaling to other major cities in Mali. This 11‑month assignment is on‑site and will work closely with government partners, UNICEF teams and other stakeholders to strengthen routine immunisation in urban settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for the national polio response and urban vaccination rollout.
• Coordinate the implementation of the Urban Vaccination Strategy in Bamako and support its replication in Kayes, Sikasso, Bougouni, Koutiala, Kita, Kati and Kalabancoro.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on vaccination program performance, ensuring data quality and timely feedback.
• Facilitate partnership building with local authorities, health agencies and implementing partners.
• Prepare strategic documents, guidelines and training materials aligned with UNICEF and national EPI standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Public Health or related field.
• Minimum five years of national‑level experience in strategic planning, programming, monitoring and evaluation of health or vaccination programmes.
• Proven experience coordinating national Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) activities, especially in urban contexts.
• Fluency in French; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with government and development partners.
