Remote Medical Coder (US/UK) – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Remote Medical Coder to join our dynamic healthcare team. The role involves reviewing complex patient records, assigning accurate diagnostic and procedural codes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to support proper reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze patient medical records, including operative reports, discharge summaries, and outpatient notes to assign appropriate ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS, OPCS‑4, or SNOMED CT codes.
• Ensure all coding complies with federal, state, NHS, and payer‑specific guidelines for accurate revenue cycle management.
• Identify discrepancies or missing information in clinical documentation and query physicians or clinical staff for clarification.
• Correct coding errors and resolve claim denials to prevent revenue loss.
• Maintain high accuracy in coding, adhere to quality standards, and participate in audits.
• Stay updated on coding guideline changes and compliance regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years of hospital medical coding experience (inpatient or outpatient) in the US or UK.
• Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS, CIC, COC) for US, or recognized UK equivalent.
• Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
• Extensive experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, EMIS Web, or SystmOne.
• Modern, functioning computer (Windows 10/11 or macOS 12+) capable of handling secure remote desktop applications.
• Stable, high‑speed internet connection (fiber/cable preferred) and a verifiable backup power supply (UPS or generator/inverter).
• Quiet, secure, HIPAA/GDPR‑compliant workspace to ensure patient confidentiality.
